Hello! How are you today?
I get a lot of questions asking what supplies I use. So, I decided to make a blog post about it so that people can easily find them.
Caran d’Ache watercolor pencils (set of 120) — I got these a few months ago and discovered that they are one of my favorite mediums to use.
Blackwing Palimino Pencils — I found these at a local stationary store and love them. They write so smooth and sharpen easily.
Kuretake Watercolors (Set of 36) — I’ve had these watercolors for a while now, and I really like them. The colors are so vibrant.
Holbein Gouache — These gouache paints have THE BEST texture. They paint so smoothly and the colors are gorgeous.
Sketchbook — I love paper and notebooks so much, but sometimes the right paper thickness and size can be hard to find. I usually categorize my sketchbooks by the mediums I use in them, so that the paper can absorb the color correctly.
For gouache, I use Mark + Fold sketchbooks — I absolutely LOVE Mark + Fold. The paper has the best creamy texture and can absorb a lot of paint. I have three of their sketchbooks, one of which can be found here. All of my sketchbooks from them are cloth bound and gorgeous.
For pencils, I use a Mark + Fold sketchbook as well. The smooth paper allows for the color to really show.
For watercolor, I use Moleskin, Strathmore, and Winsor & Newton. These brands have great paper with all sorts of different textures. I also use these brands for gouache paper.
Besides the Blackwing pencils, I have a large jar of random pencils on my desk. I have pens in another jar, and led and little pencils in another.
I hope this was helpful — all these supplies are good quality, so they can definitely be a bit pricey. But, I would 100% recommend all of them.
